Campaign Story

Hi! My name is Alyssa and I have been married to my wonderful husband Kyle for 7 years now. Early on in our marriage we knew we wanted to start a family of our own. Unfortunately we became part of the statistic that out of every five couples, one will experience unexplained infertility. We were unable to afford fertility treatments at the time and were devastated. We welcomed 3 dogs into our home that took up a lot of our time, but always knew something was missing. I devoted my time and energy to losing weight & changing my whole diet around in hopes it would change my path. I was able to lose 65 pounds and after 4.5 years, unexpectedly became pregnant with my daughter. The Dr’s and us were shocked to say the least. Our daughter will be 4 this upcoming May and she is an absolute bundle of joy.

We were hopeful that we would be able to conceive again, and started trying for another when our daughter was just shy of 2 years old. We unfortunately are being hit with the same roadblock and are unable to conceive. After 2.5 years we decided to take the plunge and see a fertility doctor, but the cost is huge. We both have great jobs & insurance, but unfortunately the fertility clinic doesn’t take our insurances. My Dr. found a large ovarian cyst on my left ovary, and I am being sent for more tests & screening. We have already paid thousands of dollars out of pocket and expect to pay more, so we have decided to start our fundraising efforts. We so desperately want to give our child a sibling, as my siblings were the most important people in my life growing up- I truly don’t know what I would have done without them. Our hope is to give our daughter that same sibling bond and love we experienced. We are grateful for anything that comes our way!
